309 The Day after

Oh what a historical day yesterday was. We elected our first black president of the United States of America. It was a close race and he did not win by a landslide by any means.

I had hope for my candidate until the end! In fact I had a hard time coming to terms with our winner. There were so many things he stands for that I don't support. I needed a few days to mourn and come to terms and find acceptance.

I believe in the USA and will stand behind our new president in January 2009. I pray that in some way our country will find unity again. The election was really divisive and now we need to come to some type of unity to continue onward.

you know,
I can't stop thinking about this post. I want to say, how much it speaks volumes of your character and moral calibre that you can admit that you grieved, and then refocused your energy on the 'other' side. I can't see too many others doing the same thing, if the vote went the other way. Kudos to your open mind. May others learn from you.
I am an Obama supporter, but being Canadian, it doesn't matter. If we can all agree to put our best foot forward, and regroup, then that way we all win. Globally.
I really appreciate your time and comments. Always welcome around my parts... well, not private parts ;) You get it.

Sincerely,
Senja
