334 Santa!

We visited Santa today at B@ss Pro of all places.

The line was really short and they gave us a free photo along with letting us take our own.

He was the kindest man.

He really took the extra moments to talk to the girls and listen to them.

We spent some time in the store and got to feed the trout in the stream and then stayed to watch the fish in the 18,000 gallon tank get fed too.

I made these from scratch today...2 dozen for dinner tomorrow.

This was the first time I had ever made dinner rolls or worked with yeast. lol

I think I will make these again for Christmas...but do cinnamon rolls.

My toes are on the mend. I go back to the doc on the 1st.

They probably look more nasty and scabby...just takes a ton of time to heal!

328 Figurines

Grammy gave each girl a Hummel figurine she found in MA when she was there in Oct.
The one on the left is dated in the 1960's and the right 1930's. Their colors are still amazingly vivid and beautiful. She will keep them at her house until the girls are older. **whew**

327 Christmas Lights

Dh with my bit of assistance put up lights at my mom's house this weekend.

She has never had lights on her house until today. She was so excited!

The girls troop went on a tour of a vegetable garden today.

They got to see all kinds of different veggies growing and helped to pick weeds too.

Here is hoping this round of laser surgery works.

I have ingrown toenail issues and want to get them taken care of before my insurance changes at the end of the year.

(You gotta love my tan lines from my sandals! lol)

309 The Day after

Oh what a historical day yesterday was. We elected our first black president of the United States of America. It was a close race and he did not win by a landslide by any means.

I had hope for my candidate until the end! In fact I had a hard time coming to terms with our winner. There were so many things he stands for that I don't support. I needed a few days to mourn and come to terms and find acceptance.

I believe in the USA and will stand behind our new president in January 2009. I pray that in some way our country will find unity again. The election was really divisive and now we need to come to some type of unity to continue onward.

308 Historic Day

Today is Election Day in the United States. We are voting either for our first women vice president or our first black president.

I voted and mailed my ballot a while back. Now all we can do is pray for whomever our new leader is going to be. They are going to need it! I do not envy either one the new position they will take in January.

Here is my photo circa 1985....I was almost a junior in high school and he was still a congressman. He did not become senator until the next year.

306 Blooming Cactus

Not much seems to bloom in the fall...but I saw this as I was waiting for the girls at the bus stop.

I finally grabbed my camera to take a picture. It won't last long.

We got them carved! On Friday afternoon!

I hated to have them go to waste...so we made it happen :)
