The girls made these Fourth of July papers today at story time. They got a small drop of paint, used the straw to make the shape of a firework, and then blew through the straw to scatter the paint. They then put salt on the top for a glittery feel. Thanks J2VR for telling us about story time. We had fun today :)

Checking out the local Oriental Market

My friend and her twin daughters and me and my two met today for lunch and a trip to the local oriental grocery store. My girls were sensitive to the smell of the store...but it was fun seeing all the variety of items not found in our tradtional american stores.

Reading...so to speak

They really don't read yet...but they were making up their own story and laughing so hard I had to capture it. They are potty trained but they sure do love this book...mainly because anything to do with the potty is hilarious!

Stegosaurus by Camryn age 4 1/2

I saw her draw this and I am so proud of her imagination. She traced her hand to get the shape of the dinosaur. She added eggs on the front bottom and rain clouds above. She loves dinosaurs and we have been talking about them, listening to books and visiting museums to further her interests.

We went to R's 8th birthday party today. His mom made this incredible cake for him. It was amazing to see.

It was made from rice crispy treats, cake and candies.

We visited the Mesa Southwest Museum today. It was amazingly very well put together...top notch for our little town.

They have some amazing exhibits to look at.
